Atlanta Bread needs bakers

Checked in today with Kip Tigrett, the owner of Pizza Doctor and the manager of the Atlanta Bread Co. (previous coverage) location going up in Tupelo. He quickly shot down the rumors we heard about Pizza Doctor being up for sale or scheduled to close. It’s business as usual, he said. And, he’s hired extra managers at Pizza Doctor to pick up the slack when he heads over to Atlanta Bread.

As far as Atlanta Bread, Tigrett said everything is on schedule to open the first or second week in June. Construction is supposed to wrap up the end of May. Right now, he and business partner Brett Hildenbrand are interviewing potential managers for Atlanta Bread. Tigrett also said he is in desperate need of bakers. All the key management positions are taking off March 31 for a seven-week training program in Atlanta.

If you are interested in applying, call Kip Tigrett at 844-2600 between 2 and 4 p.m. or send your resume to P.O. Box 1532, Tupelo, MS 38802.

WOW….a 7 week training program. i bet that thins them out real real quick. but, i bet that cuts the managerial turnover to zilch.

cant wait for them to open up. i hope leads to some more interesting businesses where the old strip center once was. should “clean up” the area nicely

Yeah, he said the program will teach them Atlanta Bread’s POS system and how to make the food. The baking part is supposed to be a major part of the program. Thus, the need to get bakers ASAP.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea on how I can get a hold of someone who is hiring for the Atlanta Bread. I called the Pizza Dr. and they said Kip has sold the busness. I just moved to Tupelo and love it here. I used to be a baker for Panera Bread and enjoyed the job.

Don’t know, but I’ll prolly be going into the Pizza Dr. this weekend. If Team BizBuzz can’t get any info, I’ll see what I can find out.

Try the PO Box. Maybe they can forward your resume along to Kip.

Thanks for helping, BWM. Sorry we didn’t get to this yesterday, but half of the bizbuzz team has been out this week (that would be Carlie). But she’s coming back today, and we’ll need to also find out why Kip changed his mind about selling Pizza Doctor.

Not that there’s anything wrong with changing your mind.

Andy Moran bought the pizza doctor…im guessing the timing was just right for kip and didnt want to get too overloaded, but im sure there could be other reasons. pizza doctor has been around for some time and thru a few owners and i dont see anything changes other than maybe some cosmetic things to their building. i dont think it was anything more than just a sound business decision.
