Krystal confirmed in Tupelo

From Krystal’s publicist, Brian Cooley:

I can confirm that in fact a Krystal will be opening in Tupelo but at this time unable to confirm location. We posted something brief on our Krystal PR blog Krystalist.com (direct link) about Krystal coming to Tupelo. It includes a video of the excitement around a Krystal opening as well as a link to a video taken in the Krystal test kitchen talking about some of the new menu items.

According to the Krystalist post, the restaurant should be open by the end of this year. We’ll post new details as we get them.

Not quite sure what’s going on with the time frame. The Krystalist blog is saying that “Krystal Lovers in Tupelo will be enjoying Krystal Burgers, Krystal Chiks, Krystal Pups, MilkQuakes and even Krystal Freezes by the end of the year.”

But, Cooley says the restaurant is “not confirmed to open by year’s end but could.”

There is an ad in today’s Journal – - Krystal is looking for manager and assistant managers.

I’d say thats a pretty good indication it’ll be sooner rather than later.

Just got off the phone with a Carlisle representative. He confirmed that Krystal has the the old Wendy’s building on West Main under contract.

However, Krystal and Carlisle have not closed on the deal yet. He expects it will close some time in July.

“It looks like it will be a successful and is in process of moving forward.”

And as far as any potential conflicts with the Wendy’s location that Carlisle owns just down the road, he doesn’t think there will be any problems with Krystal, who is technically a Wendy’s competitor:

“We’re pleased. New business just brings traffic.”
