Chris Rogers, who has served in the volunteer position of chairman of the Tupelo Redevelopment Agency, will turn over the reins to TRA board member John Oxford during Thursday’s meeting.
For the past nine years, Rogers has been the chairman of the group that is responsible for developing Fairpark. He said it’s time for someone new. Read more about Rogers and Oxford in Monday’s Daily Journal.
And, you can read what the Journal thinks of Rogers in Sunday’s editorial.
Here’s the story from today’s paper about Chris Rogers, the current chairman:

And here’s the Fairpark Web site that is in serious need of updating:

TRA has moved the meeting to next Tuesday (July 29) so Chris gets another week as the head honcho.
There’s also a reception in the works for him. We’ll post details when we get them.
And, John Oxford dropped by the Journal early and told us he already has had four phone calls from people voicing their opinions about Fairpark. Looks like the job has started already!
The Fair Park Website now says “The Fairpark District website is currently being updated.
For Information about the The Fairpark District please contact Debbie Brangenberg, 662-841-6598.
For information on Fairpark lot sales, please contact Tommy Morgan at Coldwell Banker at 662-842-3844 or visit http://www.tmhomes.com or contact your local Realtor.”
Yeah, they took down the guts of the site earlier this month, but the feel is the same. Oxford said his first priority as chairman is to update the site. His main beef is that the site still shows renderings of buildings that are built.
