You guessed Cold Stone, Marble Slab, Dunkin Donuts, Hooters and TGIF when we mentioned the mystery tenant in November (read the post).
Turns out it’s Smoothie King. Kornel Romada with The Woodmont Co. told the Biz on Tuesday night that Smoothie King signed the lease last week. The business will occupy the northernmost standalone building at the front of King’s Crossing, the shopping development anchored by Kohl’s and Ross. No word on how many jobs the business will bring or when it will open. We’re hunting down more details.
For those of you who haven’t been to Smoothie King, here’s more about the company from its Web site:
Smoothie King is a privately held New Orleans, Louisiana-area based franchise company and is the premier Smoothie Bar and Nutritional Lifestyle Center in the industry. Smoothie King centers offer their guests the industry’s first and original nutritional fruit and function-based, fresh blended smoothies. Each “Lifestyle Center” also offers healthy retail product solutions in sport beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals, and sports nutrition products.
Also, Extreme Heat is set to open in King’s Crossing by February, according to Woodmont.
well…I was hoping for something exciting…bummer
Well, they failed here once. Might as well try again.
I’ve never heard of them, and I’m not much of a smoothie fan. I wonder if they will even do well here. Smoothies don’t seem like a big ticket item in Tupelo. I was hoping for a TGIF. Oh well, maybe next time.
I had smoothie king in pensacola where i went to college. it’s ok, but i don’t see it making a big splash here either. it won’t last.
I see them located most of the time in airports or food courts. And they are usually pretty busy. I don’t think they will get the same kind of response as a free standing store. Good Luck to them.
yall prolly dont like milkshakes either, huh?
Honestly, I couldn’t care less about either one.
no, i like smoothie king…but as a poor college student, it was a rare treat. paying $5 for a fancy slush just doesn’t seem to be a business tupelo needs.
