Thats so sad, they prey on the needy, not the greedy,God Bless us all
Reply to Mary
I have a question– “Do you live in the United States”?
And if so — why would you presume to be judge and jury especially since you have no idea what this is all about. Do you always presume “guilt” because a person is charged?
They all may well be “guilty” — however they are not until proven by judge and jury–
The home in the picture is the old McCarthy home, it is near 100 years old — maybe older– it is anything but a “mansion” lived in by someone “preying on the needy” and I seriously doubt that the “needy” were investing in this firm!
Hey, John, thanks for the civics lesson. Here’s one in return… freedom of expression.
yes i do live in the u.s.and no i am no judging nobody its not for me to judge, its for the man that sits high and sees low.so it really dont matter how old the home is its just the principal of the matter, thats whats sad the whole situation. and no i dont know whats going on but something is so face up.God Bless you and all.
Sorry Mary, if John has legal knowledge and knows the background of the house, he might be taking things to personally. Maybe he is also from and “old” Baldwyn family and has a family member that works for Davis. I am sure we all rush to judgement at some point. It is a sad situation regardless of if people are guilty as charged or not. I think it is funny that four/five generations of living somewhere makes you an “old family”.
John,
You’re right, she’s not guilty until proven guilty. But, just think about it for a second. Here you have a person that has her Masters of Science in Mathematics from MSU. At the same time she was putting together a fraudulent CD program that paid rates twice as high as everyone else. Either she’s in it up to her eyeballs and guilty as heck or the Math school at MSU is a joke!
If something sounds too good to be true, 99.99 percent of the time ,it’s bogus.
“You’re right, she’s not guilty until proven guilty.” No, a person is guilty when they do something wrong, regardless of the outcome or not of any trial.
I worked with all of them for 1 year and I quit because there was something not legit about the whole operation. They are guilty. She definitely knew about it. They enjoyed the power and the lifestyle and now its catching up to them.
To “John” (2/21/09 @5:59am):
I don’t presume that this woman is innocent, nor do I have to. Furtehr, I don’t presume that Bernie Madoff is innocent either. The same goes for toddler Caylee Anthony’s mom Casey, or for any of the alleged mobsters on trial in New York, or most other high-profile defendants. Certain defense attorneys (or former Illinois governors who effectively decide to represent themselves) would have you believe that is somehow shameful, maybe even anti-American. You did this very thing, infact, with “Mary,” above. It seems you’re in company with Rod Blagojevich and OJ Simpson’s lawyers, “John.”
You see, “John,” this is a fair question: as a citizen — a member of what’s supposed to be an informed populace — am I required to presume innocence, i.e., that the authorities arrest the wrong person in every case? No, “John.” Not a chance. Imagine how this might play out on television:
“So Dan, how bad is it for (insert name of minor reality-show celebrity here) that the authorities found a pound of cocaine and four ounces of heroin on his person and in his car, the entire arrest was captured on videotape and the defendant confessed the drugs were his?”
“Bad? Bob, I have to presume the defendant innocent, so I’ll presume those drugs were planted by corrupt police officers well before the car came into focus on the tape. And that confession? Well, it must have been coerced.”
“John,” is this really the world you live in?
You see, “John,” demanding that all of us presume every defendant innocent outside of a courtroom is to demand that we stop evaluating facts, thereby suffocating independent thought and opinion. There is nothing “reasonable” about that. Nor is there anything un-American about it, “John.”
EVERYONE,
Her arrest is not direct result of the CD scam. Its because she interfered with the investigation.
Not only did she lie during her Q&A with the SEC, she was caught prepping employees to lie too.
The other charges are coming.
Lovely house. Shame she won’t be seeing it for the next twenty years. Fancy sharing a small cell with Laura. Hope she’s got good personal hygiene.
John, you may think that Stanford investors are not needy, but you are simply showing your profound ignorance. I am fighting right now for my mentally disabled adult son who had a Stanford trust to pay all of his living expenses, medical expenses, house note, etc. since he is unable to work. Against our wishes, the money was invested by Stanford in those CDs instead of equities late last year. (We found that out last week). Now, he’s lost essentially all of his money. I hope Laura and Jim, obviously good church-going buddies, sleep well knowing that they have ruined the life of a person who didn’t have much quality of life in the first place, and now has even less, with the worries of survival from day to day. And there are many more stories like that around.
Also, I don’t presume they are guilty. I know it- it’s obvious. If they had the money, they’d be turning it over and making public every document that ever existed showing that the assets are there. But they’re not doing it because they can’t. It’s gone.
I’ve read all your comments and the only comment left is all of these people live in a fog. Not guilty is something that is to be proved. You’ve already convicted. The disabled young man is the one who should be taken care of financially. He is the innocent. The ones who gave their money are the ones who really pay for the greed; theirs and yours. You want to criticize everyone else but take a look in the mirror. Not saying she’s guility or not, but sounds like some of you are shocked that someone from “little Baldwyn” could be smart enough to carry something off. You must remember one thing, there is someone above her. Remember Lt.Calley from VietNam? You really believe there was not someone higher giving orders?
This kind of “freedom of expression” is given to people like you who pass judgement on others without knowing them or anything about the case. If she is guilty, she will face punishment but don’t pass it until she’s found guilty.
As far as people who invested not being needy- one of the private schools around here had their retirement funds through Stanford. Talk about needy, these teachers get paid very little and now the little they had to invest in their retirements is probably gone.
Baldwyn, so far her charge is interfering with the investigation. It’s pretty obvious she did that.
They caught her lying AND prepping other employees to do the same.
What do YOU need ??? Photos, Video, Witnesses, etc ???
The SEC is telling you they’ve got it. SHE’S TOAST.
Perfectly primed to turn on the other two.
Whats your source of that information baldwyn grad?
what private schools are around baldwyn?
Well, guess I’m not getting a response, but baldwyn grad I have been extensively involved with that school(including receiving my education there many years ago) and I know that your statement is not true!
I have never heard of a private school around Baldwyn. Closest is in Tupelo. And ditto on ‘little’ Baldwyn. Guilty or not – they will burn you at the stakes! But in this case, guilt is more than believable.
I didn’t know about a private school when I grew up there. Of course there was a stop sign and one traffic light. I still have family in the area. I was raised to believe people are innocent until courts say different. I’ve found though, that especially when the almighty dollar is involved, it becomes a different story, and although people have bits and pieces of facts no one has all the facts unless they are involved. I’d like to ask how the person knows for fact she was coaching others how to answer questions? Is it hearsay or being present? If it was being present, did you report it and if it was from gossip, then it’s hearsay and not proof.
She can be guilty as sin but if there isn’t positive proof, she’ll walk or take a lesser charge. Either way her reputation and character will be marked for rest of her life. I can tell you, you don’t want that to happen anywhere bur especially in Mississippi. Let the scales of justice balance before sentence is passed.
Does anyone know how many of Davis’s son were employed by ‘the company’? I heard all of his kids were on the payroll as well- are their assets frozen too?

The complaint alleges Pendergest-Holt made several affirmative misrepresentations to the SEC in order to obstruct its investigation.
Specifically, the complaint alleges that Pendergest-Holt met with several SFG corporate officers in Miami during the week of Feb. 2, 2009, to prepare for her upcoming testimony before SEC staff scheduled a week later. Pendergast-Holt is alleged to have discussed with those corporate officers the SIB’s “Tier III” Portfolio, using a computer-generated pie chart she created. The complaint alleges that the pie chart reflected, among other things, a $1.6 billion loan to a shareholder from the Tier III Portfolio.
The complaint alleges that the following week, on Feb. 10, Pendergest-Holt, accompanied by an attorney, made several misrepresentations under oath to SEC investigators during her testimony, including her alleged failure to reveal that she had participated in the Miami preparation session with SFG corporate officers. Pendergest-Holt also allegedly misrepresented her own preparatory work for the testimony, saying she had met with no one other than the attorney as she worked to ready herself for the session with the SEC.
The complaint alleges further that Pendergest-Holt failed to reveal to the SEC investigators during the testimony session that she was a member of the SIB’s investment committee, or the extent of her knowledge of the bank’s Tier III Portfolio. The complaint also alleges that at no point did Pendergest-Holt reveal that the $1.6 billion loan had been discussed with corporate officers in Miami. When asked by investigators if she served on the SIB limited investment committee, Pendergest-Holt is alleged to have answered “no.”
Pendergest-Holt was interviewed again by SEC investigators on Feb. 17, 2009, in Memphis, Tenn., and, according to the complaint, she continued to obstruct the SEC’s investigation by saying she had no knowledge of the Tier III Portfolio.
FORMER BALDWYN RESIDENT, inform YOURSELF. Everything you need is on the World Wide Web.
Do you really need to talk to someone who was standing in the room ???
And, everyone is welcome to read our coverage so far on Stanford here:
http://tupelobizbuzz.wordpress.com/?s=stanford
We have the press release from the FBI (what tupelotalk posted above), along with the original SEC complaint, the FBI complaint, updates from the receiver, comments from Pendergest-Holt’s husband and attorney and lot of other info.
Jack asks….
Does anyone know how many of Davis’s son were employed by ‘the company’
Three of his sons were on payroll, plus a Russian daughter in law (who was hired after the hiring freeze was in place). All were getting nice bonuses.
Laura Pendergest, (Jim’s lover), Heather Sheppard, (Jim’s other lover/ Pendergest’s cousin), and his son were all paid a $25K relocating bonus among others. Later, after none of them relocated, they were ordered to repay the money- but didn’t.
The school is not in Baldwyn, it is in Guntown a couple of miles away. The school is a part of Lifeway Church. They told parents this week that they now have a money problem and will “Try” to stay open for the rest of the school year. I hope Mr. Davis truly gets what he deserves.
Oh, I almost forgot about Kristin Ganger, Jim’s other lover. She is his partner in Patina Decor.
Reuters just reported that two court-appointed reciever lawyers improperly raided Pendergest-Holt’s house.
I just posted it.
To Poor Mr Davis. I know Kristin Ganger personally, she has never been anyones lover let alone Davis’. She has been caught up in this mess being an innocent victim. I suggest you dont know your ass from your elbow. You hide behind code names and lie. She is a hard working business woman with her customers being he top priority. Anyone that knows her will tell you she is a very succcessful person and her reputation far exceeds her and all her customers have continue to support her. I have know doubt that she will contiue to be successful due to her work ethics and her exstraudinary abilities in the interior design world. Anyone who reads this needs to check her work out. As for the idiot, “Poor Mr Davis” feel free to contact me Mike Sharpe at mike1sharpe@yahoo.com I dont hide, know need to when you are telling the truth.
I would also like to add that Davis was only an investor in Patina Decor as he was in other local businesses and as with Ganger other innocent business people have been drug into this mess with no involvement. He was not in the day to day running of the business and they had no involvement in Stanford. These people are also victims and have employees and families to look after. So unwarranted comments do not help livelyhoods in this present economic situation we all find ourselves in. So think and get your facts right before you comment. I am again thankful that employees and customers have stuck by these innocent business people and it is business as usual. Unfortunately the bad apples always spoil it for the good ones so please do not drag people into a situation that they are not involved in.
I use a code name because I have been a friend of her sisters since they moved here from TN and don’t want to cause problems with her. I have known her far longer than you and know many things that you must not. I agree that she does have talent and a very good work ethic, but she has no character. Being someone that has known her for over 20 years, I can assure you that I in fact do know my ass from my elbow.
Obviously you dont know her otherwise you would know that she does have character and that she is a lady and some friend of her sisters your are. You are obviously a cheap gossip mongerer that is two faced. It is plain to see that you do not know your ass from your elbow and that you know nothing about the truth and your love drama because your life is empty. I feel sorry for you because you have caused unnessessary trouble for her family and are not honerable enough to stand up and admit who you are. You are a true coward and you should be disgusted in yourself for bringing someone into this story that has nothing to do with it. She is not involved in Stanford Financial in any way. You have put in question every friendship her sister has and for this your day will come. God looks at us all and you are a lier and a low life and the readers can easily see this. Again reveal yourself.
I’m all ears.
I want to add my two cents regarding the deragotory comments made about Kristin Ganger. First though, I want to say that I know “Poor Mr Davis” personally and can vouch for the fact that she in fact was a lover of Jim Davis and is throwing about other names including Kristin’s to take the lens off herself and her own misgivings.
That said, I don’t really know “Poor Mr Davis” but I just wanted to express how easy it is to make unsubstantiated claims about people while hiding behind an internet id.
That accomplished, I wish to say that I know Ms Ganger and have found her to always have been straight w/ me on everything we have talked about including some things she could only be embarassed by from telling me, yet she told me straight up.
I doubt seriously that Jim Davis had a harem of 30 somethings frequenting him to satisfy some power/ego trip he may have been on. Also, the interior design business had no relationship to Stanford Financial unless Davis himself was trying to accomplish something by doing so. In any case, I am beyond certain that Ms Ganger knew nothing about any of it and has been in fact devestated to find the business she worked so hard to help get off the ground is being trashed as a result of decisions made by others and may or may not in the end land the lot of them in jail.
Poor Mr. Davis,
Hi “Friend”, this is Kristin Ganger’s sister, Sarah Farned. There is no need for you to use a codename to conceal your identity to protect our “friend”ship, I encourage you to either be candid, or a coward. sarahfarned@hotmail.com
Regards…
“God looks at us all and you are a lier and a low life and the readers can easily see this. Again reveal yourself.”
And he is the only one who should judge you. Chill out folks. If he is storytelling, his time will come around. If he is, burn in hell. Mwaaahahahahaaaa!!!!!

Science and math are my favorite subjects. They are like land, air and water to my life.
Obviously she didn’t master anything but being a slick bitch, persay untill I ripped th3e matrix a new blackhole.
ANY1: feel free to ask me what I speak of.
Namaste
Nice home, and I bet that it’s all hers, and will stay hers.
She likely innocent. Boy what a deal her hubby is getting.
He married this attractive woman, and this house is part of the package.
This is a man’s dream come true.
Here, have this house & this hottie,
ya know what to do.
Whew, I pray for such luck!
All of this makes me sick. James Davis did not have any Mistresses. Faith Christian School Suffered even before all of this came up. He PAID for it to stay open. Yes, all of this is bad, but gossiping about it makes it way worse.
Three sons and a daughter-in-law were imployed. SO WHAT?! I happen to know that his sons are all very hard workers. oh and what does it matter if his daughter-in-law is russian? IT DOESN”T! Everyone one needs to mind there own business. Even if you lost money with them it doesn’t give you a right to pry into their lives. You need to focus on how you are going to get your money back and I can assure you his “russian daughter-in-law” has nothing to do with that!
